Mon Amie’s Solutions
About Mon Amie's Solutions™
It started with a name. And a rose.
Dr. Frederick Ogunyemi was an educator, a doctoral graduate, and a man known for two things above all else — his infectious laugh and his belief that education was the greatest gift a parent could give.
He called his daughter-in-law Mon Amie — my friend in French. And he brought her roses.
When he passed tragically and unexpectedly, the grief was profound. But so was the love. And love needed somewhere to go.
So Mon Amie's was born — first as an apparel brand, creating custom clothing and making people smile the way Dr. Ogunyemi always had. His memory was the spark. Joy was the mission.
But grief has a way of revealing what's underneath. While coping with anxiety and depression, our founder Amy started writing — a blog that became a lifeline and then a calling. She pursued certifications in mental health and coaching. She began a doctoral program. She brought her years of HR consulting experience into the fold. And in 2024, the Learning Lab™ opened its doors, completing the circle.
None of it happened alone.
Jason Ogunyemi — Amy's husband and Dr. Ogunyemi's son — has been there through every step. Like his father before him, Jason chose education. He and his father worked in the same parish, side by side, shaping students and communities together. Dr. Ogunyemi poured into his son the same way he poured into everyone around him — with intention, with belief, and with the conviction that leadership is developed, not appointed.
It wasn't until after his father's passing that Jason was promoted to Assistant Principal — and eventually, Principal. A son stepping into leadership in the wake of loss. Carrying his father's passion forward in the most personal way possible.
Today, Jason leads our Learning Lab™. And every student who walks through those doors is a living expression of what Dr. Ogunyemi believed most — that education is the greatest gift.
And then there are the grandchildren.
Everyone who knew Dr. Ogunyemi would tell you the same thing — he talked about his grandchildren constantly and loved them fiercely. Today, all three of Jason and Amy’s children work in Mon Amie's Solutions™. His legacy isn't just honored here. It's employed here. It shows up every single day in the people he loved most.
What started as a way to honor one man became a family mission.
Learning Lab™ — because he was an educator who believed in the power of knowledge. Leadership Lab™ — because he developed people everywhere he went. Wellness Lab™ — because you cannot learn or lead without being whole.
The crown and halo in our logo are in his memory. The rose is for the ones he always brought. The O represents the family name we share. And Mon Amie's — my friend — is what he called the woman who built all of this in his honor.
"The greatest gift that a parent can bequeath to their children is an education." — Dr. Frederick Ogunyemi
We are strengthening the whole village — one student, one family, one community at a time.
Because that's what he would have done.
The Insight That Shaped Our Work
Recognizing that many challenges facing young people are shaped by the environments around them, Mon Amie’s launched Break the Cycle™, a community initiative focused on interrupting generational patterns that affect youth and families by strengthening the relationships, supports, and environments surrounding them.
Rather than focusing only on intervention after problems appear, Break the Cycle™ emphasizes prevention, protective factors, and long-term development across the spaces where young people grow and learn, including:
• families
• mentoring relationships
• peer environments
• schools and community programs
• athletics and leadership spaces
By strengthening these environments, Break the Cycle™ helps expand resilience, identity, stability, and opportunity for youth and families.
Mon Amie’s serves as the founding and operating organization behind Break the Cycle™, supporting its programs, partnerships, and long-term community impact.
How We Do the Work
Mon Amie’s advances its mission through five connected areas of work that support youth, families, communities, and the organizations that serve them.

O-Zone Athletics™ supports the development of the complete student-athlete by reinforcing discipline, leadership, academic accountability, and character both on and off the field of play.Leadership and Critical Thinking Development
We equip young people with the skills needed to think critically, lead with integrity, and navigate complex decisions through youth leadership programs, workshops, and developmental experiences.Organizational Systems and Culture (Business Consulting)
We partner with schools, nonprofits, and businesses to strengthen the systems that influence outcomes for the people they serve. Through consulting and leadership development, we help organizations modernize processes, strengthen culture, and build workforce capacity aligned to mission and impact.
Together, these efforts reflect Mon Amie’s core belief that meaningful change occurs when both people and the environments around them are strengthened.
